About Magdalen Park Tennis Club

Located on Magdalen Road in SW18, Magdalen Park is an excellent tennis club in South West London.

Key information includes:

  • 8 floodlit courts
  • Excellent club house and bar
  • Great social tennis and events programme
  • Lots of team tennis
  • Coaching and junior tennis

This club’s membership seems to be geared to team players and if you’re a beginner then Spencer Tennis club down the road looks a better bet.

The courts at Magdalen Park

Magdalen Park Tennis club boasts 8 courts in total. There are 4 acrylic and 4 artificial clay.

This is a good mix as in summer the acrylic courts are a joy to play on and in winter if it’s raining and they are unplayable then the artificial clay play beautifully.

Once you are a member you can book courts online.

Having 8 courts makes it one of the bigger clubs, but it’s well attended and some courts are blocked out for coaching and social play.

Tennis at Magdalen Park Tennis Club

There is a good variety of tennis available to members at MPLTC. This includes:

  • Booking courts
  • Social Tennis
  • Tournaments
  • Team Tennis
  • Lessons and Coaching
  • Juniors

As mentioned, if you want to play your own private singles or doubles then you can book a court online.

There are various social sessions throughout the week where you can turn up and play organised doubles. This includes Wednesday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. This is a great way to meet new people and improve your tennis.

There are tennis tournaments throughout the year. The two main ones are the summer tournament which runs for 2 weeks in July and the Winter Clay Tournament which runs over the winter months and is played exclusively on the clay.

There are also smaller day tournaments run throughout the year.

If you are a team player then you are spoilt for choice at Magdalen Park. There are  lots of  Mens and Womens teams, mixed doubles in the summer, a vets teams and mid-week too if you don’t have to work.

There are also Mens and Womens team practice sessions too.
